Change lives, Crash a party:

Send a Klingon to a Fancy Award Show!

Klingons aren't bad, they're just misunderstood. Now, they have a chance to party - won't you help them out?

Here is the deal. I am a cake artist, and I recently had the honor of being involved with a local theater's production of "A Klingon Christmas Carol". It was epic - for more details on what all that entailed, Click Here for our blog entry about it (complete with photos!)

Flash forward a few months. That epic cake was entered into the International Special Events Society's "Star Awards"... and, wonders never cease, Celebration Generation Cakes won a nomination! We are up for the "Best use of Food in an Event" award with 2 other companies/events! We believe that it's the first time that a Star Trek / Klingon event has ever been entered in the ISES awards.

The awards night is on March 26th. It is a fancypants, red carpet type industry event. A very big deal. Definitely going to be epic, win or lose... however, it would be monumentally MORE epic with a Klingon entourage! Take a second and picture this for a moment. 300 of the local event industry's top professionals, a gorgeous, elegantly decorated venue.

Amazing food, the top players in the industry being honored with a fancy award... AND KLINGONS. Klingons in full costume/makeup, rubbing elbows on the red carpet. Oh, the idea tickles me.. and I have 4 big scary Klingons from the IKV RakeHell willing to accompany me to the event!

Slight problem - Tickets are $75 each. Eeek. Too steep for disadvantaged Klingons. I'd buy them all tickets if I could, but I'm a starving artist myself. (Currently on writing sabbatical! Not even doing cake orders at the moment!). As a last minute idea/expense, 4 extra tickets are just not in the budget for us this year. :( Not one to cave to adversity, I am putting up this page to appeal to those of you who are also tickled to hysterics at the idea of a Klingon entourage at such an event, and are willing to chip in with me to make it so! I am buying my own ticket, but would love help raising the $300 to have the Klingons in attendance as well!

Klingons are a rambunctious part of "The Final Frontier", and a whole lot of fun. Do your part to help integrate nerdery into a big, fancy, mainstream event, allowing geek culture to live long and prosper!

Having an event like the Klingon Christmas Carol, and entry such as a 4' long Klingon Bird of Prey cake honored in such a way is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Help us make it even more memorable and historic! You will definitely get the warm fuzzies whenever you think about your donation towards making this happen - or a fit of giggles. Either way - whatever amount you donate - it will be cheap and easy entertainment for you, for a long time to come!

UPDATE! Our ridiculously awesome friends at Thinkgeek.com stepped up to help us out with this, and donated two $75 gift certificates. EVERYONE who donated to our ticket fundraising effort were entered in a draw to win one of the two certificates - our winners are Jennifer Yates & SHannon Bergeron. Congrats, and thanks again!

Thanks to you, he will eat cake!

THANK YOU!

We met our goal in 2.5 days! There will be 4 Klingons in attendance at the ISES Minnesota Star Awards! Thank you to these awesome people who are helped an evil cake overlord and 4 crazy Klingons realize a dream!:
