Celebration Generation Cakes - Absolutely Hardcore Sugar Art in the Twin Cities and beyond!

Gorgeous New Flavor!

My husband’s best friend had his birthday yesterday, so I welcomed the opportunity to experiment with a flavor I’d dreamed up. I’m waiting on a photo of a slice of the cake, but the finished cake can be seen in my “less traditional” gallery as “Funky Birthday”. Why I forgot to take a photo of the slice is beyond me, especially given the amount of emails my Bananas Foster photo and description generated!

This cake started with my delicious Amaretto white cake as the base. I made a syrup out of peach syrup and Southern Comfort, and brushed that onto the leveled slices of the cake

Then I spread a thin layer of buttercream, which I’d flavored with Southern Comfort, followed by a puree of peaches, then a layer of thinly sliced peaches. Each layer was frosted with more SoCo buttercream, then covered with “fondant with a twist” - it was also flavored with SoCo. The whole thing was heavenly! I’m sure it will become a popular option in my flavor offerings!

A last note on this cake: This cake wins the prize for most unique/ghetto serving of one of my cakes EVER. The club he was having his party at didn’t allow cake to be brought in, as they don’t want to clean up mess after. Feh. No fun at all. Soooo.. We served it out of the back of our delivery van… in a parking lot. That was .. Um.. Special!

It was cool to see Riley again, and get to meet his girlfriend. We had a great time, but had to cut out earlyish - it was the first personal event of the weekend - we’re going to a dinner party/guinea pig session later tonight, and then a good friend of MINE has her birthday party later tonight (shh! it’s a surprise!). On top of actually having a personal life tonight, we also have a wedding show tomorrow. Whew!
