This weekend is a special one for me, for a few reasons: - The very first Celebration Generation client is getting married on Saturday! Like most of our clients, she booked waaaaay in advance. So, while she’s far from being our first delivery, it’s still a cool milestone, I think!- It’s all about the sugar / gumpaste with the two wedding cakes going out this weekend! More on that in a minute.- Both cakes got delivered tonight. A Friday! That means I actually have a weekend off for once! Very excited about that. What am I gonna do? Work, of course… but more on that in tomorrows’ blog! Very excited about what I’m doing this weekend..
This weekend, it was all about the sugar work. Kim’s cake involved many handmade sugar roses, and Kari’s cake involved a few sugar butterflies. We don’t get a ton of requests for sugar work, so it’s really cool to have 2 cakes featuring it this week. On to the photos!
Kim was so great to work with. I’d say “one of my favorite brides”, but I seem to get all of the cool ones, so most of my brides are my favorites. LOL. One of my favorite favorites then?

This was the first time having to “glue” flowers on to the cake! I’d arrived at the venue expecting one kind of flower (cattelyas) from the florist, and found these dendrobiums instead. Ah well, I think it turned out really cute anyway!Kari was a first of a different type – I have a lot of clients that I don’t/won’t meet until the wedding. Whether it’s a matter of being long distance, or whatever.. I do a lot of consults by email only. Kari’s cake represents the first cake delivered to one of my brides I hadn’t met. Well, sort of anyway – I met her for a moment when I delivered the groom’s cake the day before! I think that still counts, though!
