Jalapeno Popper Stuffed Pretzels Recipe

Yes, you read that right. Jalapeno Popper Stuffed Pretzels. I think I may have just invented the *perfect* food.

What started as a “hey, you know what would be awesome..?” thought a while back was seen through to fruition this weekend, with spectacular results. This recipe is not only simple, it only costs about $5 to make 40 poppers! So freaking good.

As is, these have the ideal amount of heat – enough to give it some kick, not enough to make it painful or mask the actual flavor. Feel free to use more or less jalapenos based on your personal preferences.

    I tried replying to your email, but it bounced 🙁 Hopefully, you’ll get my reply here!

    What kind of yeast are you using? I am not sure how much yeast there is in your packet, as I just buy the jars. So far as I recall, though, most packets will be around 2 1/4 tsp. If yours is close to the 2 1/4 tsp measure, go ahead and use a whole packet.

    I am not sure what the directions on your packet say, but as long as your yeast isn’t bad, it’ll work per the recipe. It doesn’t really dissolve, but should grow/ foam up. If your water is too hot, it’ll kill the yeast and prevent that from happening.

  2. Loving this recipe, and so is my boyfriend. Just one problem, the beer. =( is there something else besides beer that can be used? Ginger Ale?

    1. Warm water works just as well! I think ginger ale would compete with the other flavors a bit much, and bring too much sweetness… but it could be worth a try!

  3. Just made this for my husband and myself tonight! Soooo delicious! The pretzel bread itself reminds us of the pretzel bread they serve at “Society Cafe” at the Wynn in Las Vegas! However – all the filling leaked out from every popper. There was still more than enough in there, but I’m just wondering if there’s a way to prevent this. It was my first time making this, so maybe I did something wrong?

    1. Hrm, I’m not sure – haven’t had that happen. I’m guessing they just weren’t quite sealed well enough? I like to roll them around in my hands a bit, until there’s no discernible seam!
