So, I’ve got to admit – I’ve dropped the ball on this blog. The move home to Canada, re-establishing a business, and just life in general has gotten in the way… sorry about that!
So, in an effort to be better about working on the blog, I’m organizing myself and starting some new habits. One of those habits – actually keeping track of all the national food days – has actually been a lot of fun.
On the radio, you’ll hear hosts talk about whatever food day it is from time to time, and it’s usually something mainstream. Tacos, cupcakes, whatever. I had no real idea of how MANY food days there are – many days have multiple foods being observed – and how random some of them are. Did you know there’s a National Baking Soda Day? It’s in December, if you were wondering!
Anyway, in an effort to finally go through, update old entries – remember what all I have out there, even! – and keep up on posting things, I’d like to get in the habit of posting a list of some of the “days” for the upcoming month, with some recipe suggestions. It’s not going to cover EVERY day / food day, but it’ll definitely be enough to give you some ideas, if you’re planning to observe any of them! Even if not, it’s fun to trot out older recipes, and this is a great prompt for it!
